The Precious Blood of Jesus: Seven Reasons Why the Blood is Precious

Author: Creflo Dollar

Sin makes the blood of Jesus precious because only the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse us of our sins. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, God looks at us through the blood Jesus shed. We are brought into right standing with Him, which is why we need not carry guilt and condemnation in our hearts.

A. We were purchased with the precious blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18, 19, AMP).

1. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they turned their authority over to Satan, and he became their father.

2. However, Jesus shed His blood so we could be children of God again.

a. In order to have fellowship with God, we must be born again and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

B. Seven reasons why the blood of Jesus is precious:

1. The blood of Jesus has redeeming power (Hebrews 9:22, AMP).

a. Under the old covenant, the blood of animals was used to atone for, or cover, the people’s sins; however, the shedding of animals’ blood had to be done on a continual basis.

b. The shed blood of Jesus remits sin, which means it totally blots it out.

c. Jesus bought us back so we would not have to suffer the eternal penalty for sin (Acts 20:28).

d. We can change our conduct, but if our spirits have not been reborn, we are still children of the devil.

2. The blood of Jesus has cleansing power (1 John 1:7).

a. We are in bondage to sin (Revelation 1:5, AMP).

b. Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant—between us and God (Hebrews 8:6-9).

c. If the first covenant was flawless, we would have no need for a second one.

d. Jesus offered Himself as a ransom—once and for all (Hebrews 7:25-27).

e. As a result, our consciences have been purged (Hebrews 9:11-14).

3. The blood of Jesus has pacifying power.

a. It brings peace to irritating situations (Colossians 1:20, AMP).

b. It pacifies broken law.

c. We now can be free of a guilty conscience (Hebrews 10:1, 2).

4. The Blood of Jesus has reconciling power (Ephesians 2:13).

5. The Blood of Jesus has emboldening power.

a. In Bible times, people got more pronounced results because they possessed a greater level of boldness and confidence in God.
