WHAT PROVERBS SAYS ABOUT WEALTH

What Proverbs says about Prosperity
Sometimes Christians point out certain verses in
the book of Proverbs that appear to promise us
prosperity. After all, Solomon, the writer of
Proverbs, was himself a very wealthy man.
Don’t these verses say that Christians should be
well off financially if they have enough faith?
This view of certain verses in Proverbs results
from an incorrect way of interpreting the book.
Proverbs contains a list of general observations
about how things usually are in life, not a list of
wonderful promises for all of us. For example,
Proverbs 10:4 says: “Lazy hands make a man
poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.” This
verse does not mean that all hard-working
people will become millionaires! It means that
most lazy people will not become wealthy, and
many diligent people will become wealthy.
The Bible Describes Our Material Rewards
“The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and
He adds no trouble to it.”
Proverbs 10:22
“Wealth is worthless on the day of wrath, but
righteousness delivers from death.”
Proverbs 11:4
“The house of the righteous contains great
treasure, but the income of the wicked brings
them trouble.”
Proverbs 15:6
“Better a little with the fear of the LORD than
great wealth with turmoil.”
Proverbs 15:16
“Humility and the fear of the LORD bring
wealth and honor and life.”
Proverbs 22:,,,,,,,,FEAR OF GOD TO BELIEVERS IS,,”,WORSHIP OF GOD”
