When you are anointed, you begin to live differently; and when you live differently, you experience the anointing working through you in these seven manifestations:

    1. You talk about Jesus.
You can’t keep it in. If you’re anointed, you’ll be a witness for the Lord. It’s like an overflowing well that bubbles out of you. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor” (Luke 4:18).
    2. You have a hunger for the Bible.
This hunger is supernatural. What else but the anointing would cause you to open the Bible, read it, and begin understanding it? The anointing brings life to that reading. Previous to meeting the Lord on the road to Damascus, Saul of Tarsus never saw Jesus in Scripture. After meeting Jesus, the anointing came upon him. He was a changed man—even his name was changed, to Paul—and hunger for the Word grabbed his soul. Spiritual hunger is a sign of life, just as physical hunger is a sign of health. And the anointing brings hunger for God’s Word.
    3. You have a desire to reach out to those who are sick.
Those who are anointed suddenly want to minister to and pray for the sick: “He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted…and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised” (Luke 4:18). God begins to flow out of you with healing power. You want to minister healing. You may be at school or in the mall, and when you notice someone who is disabled or ill, something inside you wants to bless them. You may find yourself saying, “Can I pray with you? I believe Jesus will heal you.” What would move you that way except the anointing?
    4. You want to bring deliverance to the captives.
When the Spirit of the Lord comes upon you, in addition to everything else that you desire to do, you are suddenly called “to preach deliverance to the captives” (Luke 4:18). The anointing on your life gives you that incredible fire so that when you see someone bound, you want to go and lead them out of their bondage. You find yourself reaching into the pit, seeking to pull them out, and pointing them to Jesus, the Deliverer. God will use you to heal their broken, wounded hearts. He will direct you to bring people out of their spiritual prisons. It’s because of the anointing—that divine, blessed, heavenly anointing!
    5. God speaks the prophetic into your life.
He will speak to you through dreams and visions. You may begin hearing Him say, “Do this…don’t do that…don’t go there.” The anointing is prophetic, and it comes when you receive Jesus Christ into your heart. Ignoring that voice can bring ruin, cause harm and mistakes, and will leave you unprotected in the battles of life.
    6. You have a desire to praise God.
When God anoints you, you’ll catch yourself praising the Lord on bad days as well as on good days. In all circumstances you find yourself lifting up praises to the Lord. Then you will begin to notice that often what you are singing is a message from God directly to your heart that builds you up!
    7. God blesses you with prosperity.
Prosperity is no accident. Prosperity is the result of the anointing on your life. It’s automatic, just as with the other six manifestations. God longs to pour out His blessing of prosperity on you. We are commanded: “Thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18). That anointing is evident throughout Scripture. Because of the anointing these men of the faith were blessed:
      • God blessed Abraham with such abundance that he had a multitude of servants and warriors, and Pharaoh gave him money (Genesis 13).
      • God blessed Isaac during a time when everyone around him was plagued by famine.
      • God blessed Jacob with so much that he returned to the land of his childhood a wealthy man (Genesis 32).
      • God blessed Joseph in such a way that he rose from prison to eventually lead the nation of Egypt through a tragic famine.
      • God blessed three million slaves in Egypt, giving them favor with their enemies who wanted to destroy them.
      • God blessed David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Josiah, and many more!

It is the anointing that causes prosperity, and it is the anointing that keeps prosperity.

You Are Anointed!
