“The Lord crowns the humble with victory” (Psalm 149:4).

Victory is not something that we achieve for ourselves. It is given to us by the Lord. He sees that we are defeated. He shows us that we are defeated. He shows us that there is a way to victory. Jesus is the way. We look away from ourselves to him – and we are led in the pathway of victory. This is not to say that we always walk in the pathway of victory – far from it! It is to point out to us that Jesus is the way to victory. The more we fix our eyes on Jesus and keep our eyes on him, the more we will be led in the pathway of victory.
