ANGELS AND MORE? dO WE BECONE ANGELS WHEN WE DIE>?

Angel (Hebrew: malach/malachim; Greek: aggelos/aggelois; Latin: angelus/ angeli) means messenger or one who is deputed. It can refer to angels of the lowest choir, who have the greatest interaction with mankind, to the angelic nature of any spiritual creature who comes to man in God´s name, or even to a human messenger. There are 227 references to angel(s) in the following list.

Old Testament

Genesis 19:1     The two angels reached Sodom in the evening, as Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he got up to greet them; and bowing down with his face to the ground,
Genesis 19:12     Then the angels said to Lot: “Who else belongs to you here? Your sons (sons-in-law) and your daughters and all who belong to you in the city–take them away from it!
Genesis 19:15     As dawn was breaking, the angels urged Lot on, saying, “On your way! Take with you your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”
Genesis 48:16     The Angel who has delivered me from all harm,         bless these boys     That in them my name be recalled,         and the names of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac,     And they may become teeming multitudes         upon the earth!”
Exodus 3:2     There an angel of the LORD appeared to him in fire flaming out of a bush. As he looked on, he was surprised to see that the bush, though on fire, was not consumed.

Numbers 22:31-32     Then the LORD removed the veil from Balaam’s eyes, so that he too saw the angel of the LORD standing on the road with sword drawn; and he fell on his knees and bowed to the ground. [32] But the angel of the LORD said to him, “Why have you beaten your ass these three times? It is I who have come armed to hinder you because this rash journey of yours is directly opposed to me.
Numbers 22:34-35     Then Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, “I have sinned. Yet I did not know that you stood against me to oppose my journey. Since it has displeased you, I will go back home.” [35] But the angel of the LORD said to Balaam, “Go with the men; but you may say only what I tell you.” So Balaam went on with the princes of Balak.

Judges 2:1     An angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bochim and said, “It was I who brought you up from Egypt and led you into the land which I promised on oath to your fathers. I said that I would never break my covenant with you,
Judges 2:4     When the angel of the LORD had made these threats to all the Israelites, the people wept aloud;

Judges 13:6     The woman went and told her husband, “A man of God came to me; he had the appearance of an angel of God, terrible indeed. I did not ask him where he came from, nor did he tell me his name.
Judges 13:9     God heard the prayer of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she was sitting in the field. Since her husband Manoah was not with her,
Judges 13:13     The angel of the LORD answered Manoah, “Your wife is to abstain from all the things of which I spoke to her.

2 Chron. 32:21     Then the LORD sent an angel, who destroyed every valiant warrior, leader and commander in the camp of the Assyrian king, so that he had to return shamefaced to his own country. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down there with the sword.

 Tobit 5:4      Tobiah went to look for someone acquainted with the roads who would travel with him to Media. As soon as he went out, he found the angel Raphael standing before him, though he did not know that this was an angel of God.
Tobit 5:17     Tobit said, “God bless you, brother.” Then he called his son and said to him: “My son, prepare whatever you need for the journey, and set out with your kinsman. May God in heaven protect you on the way and bring you back to me safe and sound; and may his angel accompany you for safety, my son.”      Before setting out on his journey, Tobiah kissed his father and mother. Tobit said to him, “Have a safe journey.”
Tobit 5:22-6:1     [22b] For a good angel will go with him, his journey will be successful, and he will return unharmed.” [6:1] Then she stopped weeping.      [2a] When the boy left home, accompanied by the angel,
Tobit 6:4-5     But the angel said to him, “Take hold of the fish and don’t let it get away!” The boy seized the fish and hauled it up on the shore. [5] The angel then told him: “Cut the fish open and take out its gall, heart, and liver, and keep them with you; but throw away the entrails. Its gall, heart, and liver make useful medicines.”

 1 Macc. 7:41     “When they who were sent by the king blasphemed, your angel went out and killed a hundred and eighty-five thousand of them.

Zech. 5:10     I said to the angel who spoke with me, “Where are they taking the bushel?”
Zech. 6:4-5     I asked the angel who spoke with me, “What are these, my lord?”     [5] The angel said to me in reply, “These are the four winds of the heavens, which are coming forth after being reviewed by the LORD of all the earth.”

New Testament

Matthew 1:20     Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.
Matthew 1:24     When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.
Matthew 2:13     When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.”
Matthew 2:19 When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
Matthew 4:6     and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written:     ‘He will command his angels concerning you         and ‘with their hands they will support you,     lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”

Acts 10:22     They answered, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, respected by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and to hear what you have to say.”
Acts 11:13     He related to us how he had seen (the) angel standing in his house, saying, ‘Send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter,
Acts 12:7-11     Suddenly the angel of the Lord stood by him and a light shone in the cell. He tapped Peter on the side and awakened him, saying, “Get up quickly.” The chains fell from his wrists. [8] The angel said to him, “Put on your belt and your sandals.” He did so. Then he said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.” [9] So he followed him out, not realizing that what was happening through the angel was real; he thought he was seeing a vision. [10] They passed the first guard, then the second, and came to the iron gate leading out to the city, which opened for them by itself. They emerged and made their way down an alley, and suddenly the angel left him. [11] Then Peter recovered his senses and said, “Now I know for certain that (the) Lord sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people had been expecting.”
Acts 12:15     They told her, “You are out of your mind,” but she insisted that it was so. But they kept saying, “It is his angel.”
Acts 12:23     At once the angel of the Lord struck him down because he did not ascribe the honor to God, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last.
Acts 23:8-9     For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, while the Pharisees acknowledge all three. Rev. 8:10     When the third angel blew his trumpet, a large star burning like a torch fell from the sky. It fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
Rev. 8:12-9:1     When the fourth angel blew his trumpet, a third of the sun, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them became dark. The day lost its light for a third of the time, as did the night.     [13] Then I looked again and heard an eagle flying high overhead cry out in a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth from the rest of the trumpet blasts that the three angels are about to blow!”     [9:1] Then the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. It was given the key for the passage to the abyss.
Rev. 9:11     They had as their king the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek Apollyon.
Rev. 9:13-15     Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the (four) horns of the gold altar before God, [14] telling the sixth angel who held the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the banks of the great river Euphrates.” [15] So the four angels were released, who were prepared for this hour, day, month, and year to kill a third of the human race.
Rev. 10:1     Then I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven wrapped in a cloud, with a halo around his head; his face was like the sun and his feet were like pillars of fire.
Rev. 10:5     Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven
Rev. 10:7-9     At the time when you hear the seventh angel blow his trumpet, the mysterious plan of God shall be fulfilled, as he promised to his servants the prophets.”     [8] Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.” [9] So I went up to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. Rev. 11:15     Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world now belongs to our Lord and to his Anointed, and he will reign forever and ever.”
Rev. 12:7     Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back,
Rev. 12:9     The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it.
Rev. 14:6     Then I saw another angel flying high overhead, with everlasting good news to announce to those who dwell on earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
Rev. 14:8-10     A second angel followed, saying:     “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great,         that made all the nations drink         the wine of her licentious passion.” [9] A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice, “Anyone who worships the beast or its image, or accepts its mark on forehead or hand, [10] will also drink the wine of God’s fury, poured full strength into the cup of his wrath, and will be tormented in burning sulfur before the holy angels and before the Lamb.
Rev. 14:15     Another angel came out of the temple, crying out in a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud, “Use your sickle and reap the harvest, for the time to reap has come, because the earth’s harvest is fully ripe.”
Rev. 14:17-19     Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven who also had a sharp sickle. [18] Then another angel (came) from the altar, (who) was in charge of the fire, and cried out in a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Use your sharp sickle and cut the clusters from the earth’s vines, for its grapes are ripe.” [19] So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and cut the earth’s vintage. He threw it into the great wine press of God’s fury.
Rev. 15:1     Then I saw in heaven another sign, great and awe-inspiring: seven angels with the seven last plagues, for through them God’s fury is accomplished.
Rev. 15:6-16:5     and the seven angels with the seven plagues came out of the temple. They were dressed in clean white linen, with a gold sash around their chests. [7] One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven gold bowls filled with the fury of God, who lives forever and ever. [8] Then the temple became so filled with the smoke from God’s glory and might that no one could enter it until the seven plagues of the seven angels had been accomplished.     [16:1] I heard a loud voice speaking from the temple to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven bowls of God’s fury upon the earth.”     [2] The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Festering and ugly sores broke out on those who had the mark of the beast or worshiped its image.     [3] The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea. The sea turned to blood like that from a corpse; every creature living in the sea died.     [4] The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water. These also turned to blood. [5] Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:     “You are just, O Holy One,         who are and who were,         in passing this sentence.
Rev. 16:8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun. It was given the power to burn people with fire.
Rev. 16:10     The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast. Its kingdom was plunged into darkness, and people bit their tongues in pain
Rev. 16:12     The sixth angel emptied his bowl on the great river Euphrates. Its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East.
Rev. 16:17     The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.”
Rev. 17:1     Then one of the seven angels who were holding the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come here. I will show you the judgment on the great harlot who lives near the many waters.
Rev. 17:7     The angel said to me, “Why are you amazed? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, the beast with the seven heads and the ten horns.
Rev. 18:1     After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth became illumined by his splendor.
Rev. 18:21 A mighty angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone and threw it into the sea and said:     “With such force will Babylon the great city be thrown down,         and will never be found again.
Rev. 19:9     Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who have been called to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These words are true; they come from God.”
Rev. 19:17     Then I saw an angel standing on the sun. He cried out (in) a loud voice to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come here. Gather for God’s great feast,
Rev. 20:1     Then I saw an angel come down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a heavy chain.
Rev. 21:9     One of the seven angels who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
